National Talent Search Examination



The National Talent Search Examinations are held for 10th standard students to award scholarship to the students pursuing courses in science and social science up to doctoral level and in professional courses like medicine and engineering up to second degree level. As on date 2000 scholarships are awarded throughout the country with reservation up to 15 percent for SC, 7.5 percent for ST and 27 percent for other backward classes and 4 percent for group of students with benchmark disabilities. 

Identification of talent comprises of two stage selection process. State or UT conducts the first stage selection and the second stage selection is conducted by NCERT at the national level.

All the students studying in class X will be eligible to appear for the examination. State level examination has Part- I Mental Ability Test (MAT)  Part - II Scholastic Aptitude test. (SAT).

MICE is conducting training program for NTSE examination from 8th standard. This training from MICE is also considered foundation training for students who appear for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for IIT's, National Institute of Technology Colleges (Surathkal) as well as entrance examination of MAHE Manipal.
